small village and the place for overnight stay before you visit
Yumthang. Yumthang visit is ideal during the first half of the day
when the weather remains at its best.
Apart from the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains, Yumthang
is also known for the rhododendrons. The area falls under the Singba
Rhododendron Sanctuary. During the months of April and May the whole
valley comes to life with blooming rhododendrons. No wonder then
that the valley is known as the Valley of flowers as well. There
is a hot spring in the valley known as the `Tsa-Chu`. The hot spring
is very popular for its known curative and healing power. There
is also an abandoned forest bungalow which may act as a backdrop
for your photo sessions.

in the vicinity of Yumthang, although there are restriction on visiting
these places. One may drive to Lachen after visiting Yumthang. Lachen
is the starting point for tours to high altitude lakes such as Gurudongma,
Green lake etc.
Tourists require special permits to visit North Sikkim. The area
