Dibrugarh
Like most other important towns in Assam, Dibrugarh is also located
on the banks of River Brahmaputra. This is the largest tea exporting
town in India.The Dibrugarh town is surrounded by tea gardens with
the Himalayas in the background. Dibrugarh is the gateway to the Border
state of Arunachal Pradesh. The town is directly connected by road,
railway and air to other parts of Assam. |
The National Highway 37 connects Dibrugarh
to the rest of the country. There is a broad gauge train line connecting
Dibrugarh with Guwahati. There is a civilian airport at Mohanbari,
about 17 km from the town. From this airport regular flights are available
to Delhi, Calcutta and Guwahati. Places of tourist

Namdapha Tiger Reserve and National Park
– This is the last tiger reserve of India located almost at
the eastern tip of the country. Spread over a large area covering
1985.23 square kilometers, the National Park is a natural paradise.
The Thick, impenetrable tropical rain forest of Namdapha lies along
the Noa-Dihing River at the international border between India and
Myanmar within Changlang District in the state of Arunachal Pradesh
in the northeast India. |
